Hot Dog & BunHDB, which stands for Hot Dog and Bun, is where the competitor removes the hot dog from the bun and eats them separately. HDB is rarely used because of its ineffectiveness in professional competitive. For instance, if a competitor ate all the hot dogs and hasn't eaten the bun then the competitor would not get the credit for the hotdogs. In order to receive full credit the athlete must finish the hot dog and the bun. This method is mostly used by amateurs who've just been introduced to the competitive eating sport. However, eaters that have been in the competitive eating industry longer have better and more reliable methods to ensure maximum eating capacity.
